As children in Mexico, Rafael and Pablo swear an allegiance to each other, even though they love their friend Isabel so much. Later on, as adults, Isabel learns that Pablo, whom she loves, has joined the French Foreign Legion and has been sent to a severe disciplinary unit, she begs Rafael to find him and save him.
